For a week in June (dates to be confirmed), we are inviting young people from various countries to the hill of Vézelay, led by a quest for understanding of the human being, his roots, his challenges, in today's context.
This course is a time shared between young people of different origins in search of coherence between a desire for personal fulfilment and a need for a foundation on which to make future choices.
In a nutshell: «How can I make my personal path part of a collective destiny? Where do I fit in?»
The privileged setting of Vézelay, with its beautiful landscapes and architecture, will be a call to open your eyes and marvel.
8 days will be devoted to a gradual approach to human resources, aspirations and struggles, in the light of the stories carved into the stone of the basilica 900 years ago.
The days will be punctuated by times of silence, listening, writing and sharing.
A walk in the vicinity of the hill, the awakening of the voice through singing, the relevance of the gaze through drawing, will constitute the warm-up for the morning.
In the afternoon will be devoted to reading the sculptures in the Basilica, and to teaching and meeting people with a passion for architecture, symbolism and theology.
By an artistic, physical and rational approach each person is offered a space where a unique voice can emerge, driven by an awareness of their presence in the world, to others and to themselves.
This course will take place in English, and the pleasure of French for everyday life.
Each participant will have the opportunity to continue with a 2 to 8 week work placement in Vézelay, see heritage mediation training - summer courses in Vézelay or on one of the Maison du Visiteur partner sites.
