Following a visit in 2022 by members of the French Heritage SocietyChristopher was invited to introduce Vézelay to his members in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta and New Orleans. In early 2025, the FHS launched an appeal for donations to help finance the restoration of the Basilica. To date, around $ 40,000 have been raised. This year, the French Heritrage Society à ChicagoinvitedHélène and Christopher to present "The Magic of Vézelay's Basilica"(!) on Thursday 6 November and to the Alliance Française in Milwaukee on Saturday 8, followed by "Romanesque Art and Architecture at the Basilica of Vézelay" on Saturday 9. Medieval Institute at the Western Michigan University, KalamazooMonday 10.
From 11-17 they will be in South Bend in Notre Dame University for conferences and workshops, including the "Living Tradition from 13-15. They will be staying with a couple visiting Vézelay in 2024.
The tour of the Mid-West will conclude in Indianapolis, where the guests will be Dr Sue Morterknown for her group visits to Vézelay.
